How to troubleshoot a Grizzly G4003G motor that will not start?
- TTracy GarciaAug 22, 2025
If the motor of your Grizzly Lathe won't start, several issues could be the cause. First, ensure that the main power panel switch is turned ON and the emergency switch is not pushed in—rotate it to pop it out. Check for tripped circuit breakers or fuses, and if necessary, have an electrician troubleshoot your shop's power supply. Also, inspect for any voltage issues or open connections, replacing wires and connections as needed. The capacitor, motor direction switch, power switch, or magnetic contactor might be faulty and require replacement. In some cases, the motor itself may be the problem, necessitating a replacement.
