Zur Zeit sind nur die Kanile P und Q benutzt. Sie haben folgende
Bedeutung:
Kanai P
Der Kanal P ist ein Flag Bit, das den Start des Audiosignals
angibt:
AUDIOSIGNAL
Anfang bzw. Ende des Audiosignats
(Die minimale Lange betragt 2 Sekunden)
Logisch 0
Logisch 1
Der Ubergang von 1 nach 0 startet zugleich einen Zahler. Nach
jedem Stick ist der P- Kanal wieder auf 1. Dieses Bit wird zum
Suchen der AUDIO-Signalanfange benutzt (z.B. bei der Funktion
"NEXT" = Nachstes Programmstiick) .
In der Ausiaufspur (Lead-out track) wechselt der P-Kanal im 2-Hz-
Rhythmus zwischen 0 und 1 und zeigt damit das Ende der Platte an.
Kanal Q
Im Kanal Qist codiert:
die Nummer des Musikstiickes
"der Index (eine Markierung wahrend d. Musikstickes, z.B.
Solostimmen Instrumente, usw.)
die Spieizeit
der Plattenindex
die Preemphasis
die Stummschaltung (Muting)

Ein GréBenvergleich der Platte
VergréBerte man die CD-Platte um den Faktor 1000, so erhielte sie
einen Durchmesser von 120 m. Die folgenden Angaben vermitteln
ein anschauliches Verstandnis von der Prazision der Platte und der
Abtastelektronik.
Bei dieser GréBe betrige der Spurabstand 1,6 mm!
Ein Pit hatte eine Lange zwischen 0,9 und 3,3 mm, der Abstand
zwischen den Pits ebenso.
Die Tiefe eines Pits lage bei nur 0,12 mm !
Das nachfolgende Bild zeigt die geometrische Aufteilung der Platte
in Millimeter.
The P and Q channels only are used at the present time. These
have the following function:
Channel P
The Channel, P is a Flag Bit, which at the start of the audio
signal produces:
Logic 0
Logic 1
AUDIO SIGNAL
Start or the end of the audio signals
(the minimum length corresponds to
2 seconds).
The transition from 1 to 0 simultaneously starts up a counter. After
every piece of music the P channel returns to 1. This Bit is used for
searching the beginning of the audio signal (eg: for the function
“NEXT* = next programme piece).
The lead out track alters the P channel in a rhythm of 2 Hz between
0 and 1 and indicates the end of the disc.
Channel Q
In Channel Q the coding is:
The number of the piece of music.
The index (the marking of the appropriate. piece of music,
eg: solo rendering, instrumental, etc.).
The playing time.
The disc index.
The pre- emphasis.

A comparison of size by enlargement of the disc
If the CD disc is enlarged by factor of 1000 it will reach a diameter of _
120m. The following information explains the current standard of
precision for the disc and the scanning electronics.
At this size the distance between the tracks is 1.6mm !
A Pit has a length of between 0.9 and 3.3mm, which is also the
distance between the Pits. :
The depth of a Pitis only 0.12mm !
