The Spindle and
motor
bearings are permanently
lubricated.
If
machine
has
a rack and
pinion
type
longitudinal
table travel,
this
assembly
was
greased
at
the fac-
tory.
A small
amount
of
grease
should
be
added
to
the rack
each
month.
·
NOTE: Check
oil
reservoir level
(see
cup
at
rear
of
machine.)
If
needed, add way
oil
to
bring level just
above half way. (Fig. 5)
STEP 10.
ELECTRICAL
CONNECTIONS:
CAUTION:
To
preclude personal
injury
or
exten-
sive machine damage, all electrical
work
should
be
done
by
a qualified electrician.
10.1 Compare rating label on the back
of
the
spindle
motor
with
house current
to
make
certain
they
correspond.
10.2 Connect three main
line
wires
to
house
current
system.
10.3 Stand in
front
of
machine.
Turn
Spin-
dle
Motor
on
.
It
should
ROTATE
CLOCKWISE.
If
not,
switch
any
two
of
the
three live
wire
connections.
10.4
Ground
machine
by
connecting
the
green
wire
to
a steam
or
water pipe.
CAUTION
:
Do
NOT
ground
the
machine
to
a
gas
pipe.
