Automatic Flash Control
The camera’s built-in ash sensor and electronics
meter the light reected from the central portion of
thelmsurface,acirclewithadiameterof40mm.
The metering system is connected to a selector for
settinglmspeed.WiththeHasselbladProash4504
directly connected or any other System SCA 300 or
500dedicatedashunitconnectedthroughtheHas-
selbladashadaptersSCA390or590itcontrolsthe
ashunit andcutso theashwhen theexposure
is correct.
ForconnectingtheHasselbladProash4504tothe
503CX , please refer to the instruction manual for the
ashunit.
Under the left hand edge of the focusing screen an
indicator lightshows whenthe ash is readyto be
operated and also conrms if theash output was
sucienttogiveacorrectexposure.
The ash unitpowers thecamera’s electronics and
alsotheashadapter,whenthatisused.
