SINE WAVE AMPLITUDE SWITCH
Refer to Pictorial 12 view A for the following
steps,
( ) Fasten the 8-position rotary switch (#63-
485)
in chassis hole L. Use a control nut
turned down finger tight,
NOTE: The Sine Wave Amplitude switch will
have many resistors on it that pass through
and quite close to the switch itself. Therefore,
be sure to position each resistor as it is
shown in the Pictorial. Do not allow the resistor
body or leads to touch other parts. In parti-
cular, make sure that the resistors do not
touch the moving parts or posts of the switch.
Connect an 1100 g (brown-brown-red) re-
sistor from lug F8 (NS) to lug F5 (NS),
Connect a 750 g (violet-green-brown) re-
sistor from lug F5 (NS) to lug F7 (NS).
Connect a 1600 g (brown-blue-red) resistor
from lug F7 (S-2) to lug F8 (NS).
Connect a 1600 g (brown- blue-red) resistor
from lug F8 (S-3) to lug F9 (NS),
Connect a 1600 n (brown-blue-red) resistor
from lug F9 (NS) to lug RIO (NS).

Pass one lead of an 1100 n (brown-brown-
red) resistor through lug R5 (NS) to control
lug 1 (S-l), Use the full length of the lead.
( ) Connect the other lead of this resistor to
lug RIO (NS).
Refer to Pictorial 12 View B for the following
steps,
Connect an 1100 n (brown-brown-red) re-
sistor from lug F9 (S-3) to lug F3 (NS).
Prepare two 1100 n (brown-brown-red)
resistors by attaching and soldering the
leads at one end as shown in Detail 12A.
Connect the common lead of this pair of
resistors to lug R3 (NS).
At
the other end of this pair, connect one
resistor to lug R12 (NS) and the other re-
sistor to lug Rll (NS).

Connect a 1600 g (brown-blue-red) resistor
from lug RIO (S-3) to lug Rll (NS).
( )
Connect a 1600 n (brown-blue-red) resistor
from lug Rll (S-3) to lug R12 (NS).
( )
Connect a 390 n (orange-white-brown) re-
sistor from lug R12 (S-3) to lug Rl (NS).
Connect a 2400 n (red-yellow-red) resistor
from lug Rl (S-2) to lug R2 (NS).
Connect a 150 n (brown-green-brown) re-
sistor from lug R2 (NS) to control lug 2 (S-l).
Connect one lead of a 620 n (blue-red-brown)
resistor to lug R2 (S-3), Use the full length
of the lead. Cut off the other lead at a point
3/4" from the resistor body. This lead
will be connected later.
( ) Prepare the fol!oVicine: lengths of hookup mre:
1-1/2" blue
5" blue
3" blue
2-1/2" blue
1-1/4"
( ) Connect a 1-1/2" blue wire between lugs
FlO and R9 (S-l).
NOTE: Each of the next five wires will have
only one end connected to the switch. The
free ends will be connected later.
) Connect a 5" blue wire to lug F4
( ) Connect a 3" blue wire to
( ) Connect a 2-1/2" blue wire

( ) Connect a 1-1/4" black Vicire
R3 (NS).

( ) Prepare a
4-1/2" black Viire by removing 1/4"
of insulation from one 2" of insulation from
the other end.
Pass the 2" end through lugs F5
(S-4) and R5 (S-4) to R3 (S-3). ~Iake sure that the
mre does not touch the shield plate.
This completes prewiring the Sine Wave .o..J"I-'LJ.-
tude switch. All lugs on both switch wafers
on the control should be soldered. Remove
switch from the chassis and set it aside
it is called for later.
