MEASURES AGAINST KICKBACK
• Kickback is a sudden reaction of closed, blocked or unbalanced saw blade, resulting in
uncontrolled movement of sawn material upwards from to the user.
Kickback is a result of improper use of saw and/or incorrect working practices and
conditions, and is possible to avoid it by appropriate observance of the following
measures:
• Always hold the saw fi rmly with both hands, keep the body and arms in such a position
to be able to capture the forces caused by kickback. The forces caused by the kickback the
user can return to manage by the following of relevant safety instructions.
• When a deadlock of saw blade or if needed to stop cutting for any reason, switch off the
engine and hold the saw in the material in place until the cutting blade stops completely.
• If you run the saw again with the saw blade in the workpiece, center the saw blade in the
groove section and make sure that teeth do not bump into the material. If the rotation of
saw blade is limited, after restart it may occur a kickback.
• Do not use dull or damaged saw blades. Unsharped or improperly set saw blades create a
narrow groove of cut and cause excessive friction, which reduces blade rotation and leads
to a kickback.
• Before you start cutting, the levers ensuring the cutting depth adjustment and tilt of saw
blade must be adequately and securely tightened.
• Never do not cut pieces larger than allowed by the specifi cation!
RECOMMENDED PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
If neccessary, use these following personal protective equipment:
- Fixed non-slip work boots.
- Use ears protection to prevent impairment of hearing.
- Respirator, to prevent breathing the dangerous dust.
- When manipulating the blade saw always use protective gloves.
PERSON PROTECTION
Be prepared! Have about one following things at least:
• Suitable fire extinguisher (froth extinguishing).
• Fully equipped first-aid kit, available easily for machine operator and accompanying person. It
should contain enough pieces of bandage for lacerated/cutting wounds.
• Mobile phone or another device for quick calling of rescue service.
Don´t work alone. There must be around another person who knows principles of
the first aid.
The accompanying person must keep safe separation distance from your workplace,
but he/she must be able to see you the whole time! Work only on such places
where you are able to call the rescue service quickly!
