(1) Check the operating cylinder
inner surface and the piston periphery
surface for rusting. Then, measure the
clearance between the piston and cylinder.
(See Fig.2-17)
Standard: 0.03-0.10mm
Maximum clearance: 0.15mm

(2) Visually check the piston cup for damage or deformation. If unsatisfactory,
replace with new one.
(3) Check the free length of the operating cylinder spring. If unsatisfactory, replace
it.
(4) Check the friction piece for
thickness to see if it is excessive worn. If
necessary, replace it. (See Fig. 2-18)

(5) Check the condition of the brake
drum inner surface. If any damage or
excessive wear is found, repair by
machining or replace it. (See Fig.2-19)
