4.4 Brake system
The bicycle's brake system comprises:
• a rim brake on the front and rear wheels or
• a disk brake on the front and rear wheels.

The rim brake stops the movement of the wheel when
the rider pulls the brake lever, causing two brake pads,
positioned opposite one another, to be pressed onto
the rims.
There are two alternative versions of the rim brake:
• the hydraulically operated rim brake and
• the cable-operated rim brake.
