You can select either the printer node or the printer instance in the device tree. If you select the printer
node on the left side of the screen, any changes to the selections on the Default Options tab on the right
side of the screen affect all instances of that printer type.
If you select the individual printer instance on the left side of the screen, the Active Jobs, Event Log, and
Options tabs are displayed on the right side of the screen to modify the settings for the selected printer.
Field Description
Desktop Notification
Alert Options Specifies how notification of alerts are displayed. Options are:
Desktop Message: Displays a small window on the lower right side of the main screen.
Icon alert: Displays an icon on the task bar. When an alert is active the icon blinks.
Audible Alert: Sounds a notification when an alert is activated.
Message Settings Sets the characteristics of the desktop message. Settings are:
Duration (sec.): Sets the amount of time the error message is displayed on your screen
when an error occurs. Available setting is 0-30 seconds. Default is 30 seconds.
Transparency (%): Sets the background color of the message displayed on the screen.
Values available are 0-80%. If set to a lower number, the background of the message
window is more opaque. Default is 0%.
Preview message: Displays the desktop message using the currently selected settings.
Active Jobs
Open Print Queue This selection is displayed when a printer instance is selected and the Active Jobs tab is
available and selected. Opens the selected printer's print queue.
Cancel All This selection is displayed when a printer instance is selected and the Active Jobs tab is
available and selected. Removes all jobs waiting in the print queue area.
Setup
Save Saves the selected options for this printer instance.
Save: Saves any changes to the settings.
Save and Exit: Saves any changes and closes the HID Printer Status Monitor.
