Usage Features:
- CPR Position: The bed can be quickly moved to a flat CPR position by pulling a yellow CPR Open label on the mattress assembly.
- Side Rails: Adjustable side rails can be raised and lowered, and their height can be adjusted to prevent entrapment risk. They are designed to be fully latched when in the raised position.
- Headboard and Footboard: The headboard is removable for increased access to the patient's head.
- Equipment Sockets: Four equipment sockets are located at each corner of the bed for mounting IV poles, ISS poles, traction equipment, and oxygen tank holders.

Maintenance Features:

- Mattress Assembly Cleaning: Instructions for cleaning the coverlet with a chlorine bleach solution and warm water.
- Air Filter Replacement: The Excel Air™ Low Airloss Therapy Surface has an air filter that needs to be replaced after 800 hours of operation. The control panel will display a "Replace Filter" message.
- Scheduled Maintenance:
- Every two weeks and then, at a minimum, every six months:
- Make sure all bolts are fully tightened.
- Make sure all pins are in the locked position and are fully connected.
- Examine all welds.
- Make sure all electrical connections are connected.
- Every six months:
- Use light grease to lubricate all slides and pivot points.
- Examine all electrical wiring for any frays, kinks, and/or deterioration.
- Examine the covering of the bed's control panel, ensuring it is not cracked or damaged.
- Service: Only facility-authorized personnel should service the Excel Care™ Bariatric Bed. Unauthorized personnel could result in personal injury or equipment damage.
