7 Troubleshooting
If the trouble you are experiencing is not listed in this table or you are unable to remedy the problem by
yourself, please contact Hilti Service.
7.1 Troubleshooting
Trouble or fault Possible cause Action to be taken
The tool will not start. Interruption in the electric supply ▶ Plug in another power tool or
appliance and check whether it
works.
The supply cord or plug is defec-
tive.
▶ Have the tool repaired only by a
Hilti Service Center.
The control switch is defective. ▶ Have the tool repaired only by a
Hilti Service Center.
The power tool does not
achieve full power.
The extension cord is too long
and/or its gauge is inadequate.
▶ Use only extension cords
of a type approved for the
application and with conductors
of adequate gauge.
The control switch is not fully
pressed.
▶ Press the control switch fully.
The saw blade cannot be
removed from the chuck.
The locking sleeve is not turned as
far as it will go.
▶ Turn the locking sleeve as far as
it will go and remove the saw
blade.
Orbital-action function does
not react
Orbital-action switch is not in the
position for orbital action.
▶ Move the orbital-action switch
to the position for orbital action.
Orbital action is perceptible only
when the saw is cutting.
Contact shoe or pipe-cutting
adapter cannot be removed
Prevented by saw blade. ▶ Remove the saw blade and then
remove the contact shoe.
Pushbutton not pressed in all the
way.
▶ Press the pushbutton all the
way in and remove the saw
blade.
8 Disposal
Most of the materials from which Hilti tools and appliances are manufactured can be recycled. The
materials must be correctly separated before they can be recycled. In many countries, your old tools,
machines or appliances can be returned to Hilti for recycling. Ask Hilti Service or your Hilti representative
for further information.
▶ Do not dispose of power tools, electronic equipment or batteries as household waste!
