Inspection Before Use

If normal at “

Check that the test
leads are not broken.” (p. 38), the
check below is unnecessary.
Abnormal:
1. Remove the fuse from the
instrument. (p. 100)
2. Check the resistance value of
the fuse using other tester.
Normal:
Fuse rating Resistance
630 mA 1 to 5
Ω
Abnormal:
If the value above is not obtained (the
value higher than that is displayed),
replace the fuse. (p. 100)

Check that the electric charge detection function operates
normally. (Only the DT4254, DT4255, and DT4256)
Check method Action
Position the detector on a known
power supply, such as a power outlet.
(The position of the rotary switch
varies depending on the model.)
Normal:
A buzzer sounds and the red LED
lights up (detecting mode).
Abnormal:
The display does not change. A
buzzer does not sound or the red
LED does not light up.
Solution:
A malfunction may have occurred.
Stop the inspection and do not use
the instrument.
