provides interface functions for the controller box or drive box.

Internet Storage Naming Service. An automated discovery, management,
and configuration tool used by some iSCSI devices. iSNS eliminates the
need to manually configure each individual storage system with a specific
list of initiators and target IP addresses. Instead, iSNS automatically
discovers, manages, and configures all iSCSI devices in your
environment.
