Service processor
The service processor (SVP) provides out‑of‑band configuration and management of the
storage system, and collects performance data for key components to enable diagnostic
testing and analysis.
The SVP enables the Hitachi Vantara representative or authorized service provider to
configure, maintain, service, and upgrade the storage system. The SVP also hosts the
Hitachi Device Manager - Storage Navigator software, and it collects performance data for
key components to enable diagnostic testing and analysis.
The SVP is available as a 1U management server physically installed above the controller
and drive trays in the rack or as a 64-bit software application provided by Hitachi Vantara. For
