6.4 STATIC UNBALANCE
The static unbalance is shown on display 1 and the relative correction position on the LED display 3
3
.
The correction weight application diameter cannot be set, but is deduced from the dimensions acquired in standard
or ALU mode through interpolation algorithms and the use of fixed parameters.
The axial application distance of the adhesive weight inside the rim is calculated so as to reduce the residual
unbalance on the planes to a minimum and is indicated by the spotter laser.
If the Spotter is disabled, apply an adhesive weight in the mid of the two correction planes.
Tolerance, brake and spotter control is the same as for standard balancing, only that it refers to a single correc-
tion plane.
6.4.1 OPB
One plane balancing enables possibility to correct static unbalance by simply applying an adhesive weight in posi-
tion indicated by spotter laser, in order to minimize (and probably within tolerance) the residuals present on the
relative planes. In case the led (3) blinks
3
:
press button (3) and proceed with static unbalance correction by applying a stick-on weight (weight amount is
shown on display 1) in position indicated by spotter.
press button (3) and perform a check-spin to verify residuals on relative planes. Should they be slightly out of
tolerance proceed with standard correction mode.
OPB is not available if The spotter is disabled ( SETUP).
6.5 HIDE THE ADHESIVE WEIGHTS (SPLIT)
SPLIT is only possible in the event of static unbalance or ALU external side and is used to hide any adhesive weights
correcting unbalance behind the rim spokes.
1. Perform an unbalance measurement spin
2. Position the static unbalance or outside ALU in the in the correction position .
3. Press
SPLIT
and hold down until the laser points to the spoke where you want to hide the weight.
4. Release the
SPLIT
button.
5. Tu rn the wheel in the unbalance rotation direction indicated on the display until the second spoke is in the
position indicated by the laser and press the
SPLIT
button.
6. Turn the wheel to the correction positions indicated by the LEDs and correct the value displayed.
To return to the normal unbalance indication press
SPLIT
.
