Inordertoreducetheriskofinjurytovehicleoccupants,toolsthatarenotspecicallydesigned
forcrashsafety,shouldberemovedandstoredseparatelyinthevehiclesafelysuch.eg
crutches,loosepillows,therapytablesetc.
Theuserhastobebuckledupwiththelapbeltaswellastheshoulderbelt.
Shoulderandlapbeltsshouldbeusedtominimizeand/oravoidpotentialinjuryfromimpacton
vehiclecomponents.
7.2. 3Bucklingtherehabpushchairpassenger
1)Thepersonexecutingtheattachmentshouldbetrainedinthehandlingofthesystem.
2)Beforetransportationthefollowingadjustmentsoftherehabpushchairhavetobecarriedout:
Seat: 0°-5°
Backrest: 90°-100°
Footrest: 90°
3)Theanglebetweenlapbeltandhorizontalhastobe30°-75°.Ananglecloseto75°ispreferable.
4)Theshoulderbelthastorunacrosstochestandshoulder.Thebeltmaynotbuttattheneckandmaynotbe
attachedloosefromtheshoulder.
5)Thebeltstrapmaynotbetwisted.
6)Theuser‘sheadshouldbeadditionallysecuredbyaseparateandpermanentlymountedheadrestinthebus.
