REPLACING THE SPARK PLUG
WARNING
The material of the spark plug is metal. It becomes very
hot after you stop the engine. Wait the engine to cool
down before you disassemble the metal spark plug boot
to avoid personal injury.
NOTE: The engine uses a TORCH L8RTC spark plug
or equivalent with 0.63 mm electrode gap. Use an exact
replacement and replace the spark plug annually.
Stop the engine.
Twist the spark plug boot and pull it away from the
spark plug.
Loosen the spark plug by turning it in a counterclockwise
direction using a combination wrench. Remove the old
spark plug and replace with a new one and then tighten
the spark plug to 22~25 N.m clockwise or 4.5 turns after
finger tight. Assemble back the spark plug boot.
CLEANING THE AIR FILTER
For proper performance and longer life, keep the air lter
clean.
Ensure the product is in the off position.
Remove the air filter cover.
Remove the air filter and clean it with warm, soapy
water.
Rinse and let the air filter dry completely.
Work two drops of lubricant into the air filter.
Replace the air filter (fits only one way).
Replace the air filter cover.
NOTE: The air lter should be replaced annually for the
best performance.
CLEANING THE EXHAUST HOLE OF THE CYLINDER
AND INTAKE HOLE OF THE MUFFLER
WARNING
Always stop the engine and allow it to cool down before
cleaning the exhaust hole.
Make sure the product is in the “off” position.
Remove the spark plug boot from spark plug.
Remove the screw on the top of housing
counterclockwise.
Remove the screw on the front of the housing
counterclockwise.
Remove the screw on the back of housing
counterclockwise.
Remove the housing from the engine.
Remove the muffler screws counterclockwise, then
remove the heat shield and muffler from the cylinder.
Use the brush to clean the exhaust hole of cylinder and
intake hole of the muffler.
Replace the muffler and heat shield. Replace the
screws and tighten them clockwise.
Replace the housing, replace the screw on the top of
the housing, and then tighten it clockwise.
Replace the screw on the front of the housing, then
tighten it clockwise.
Replace the screw on the back of the housing, then
tighten it clockwise.
Replace the spark plug boot into the spark plug.
