Trailer Hitch Installation Procedure

Vehicle Preparation and Bumper Removal

Disconnect the vehicle battery and begin removing the rear bumper, wheel arch protectors, and related clips/screws.

Rear Bumper Lower Cover and Connector Handling

Remove the rear bumper lower cover, unplug vehicle connectors, and handle hands-free access unit connectors if equipped.

Optional Hands-Free Tailgate Kit Installation

Install components for the optional Hands-Free Access Power Tailgate Kit, including cutting an access unit and mounting sensor bars.

Trailer Hitch Cover and Hitch Mounting

Attach the trailer hitch cover, reinstall the bumper, and mount the trailer hitch assembly using flange bolts.

Final Steps and System Verification

Check wiring, reinstall components, reconnect the battery, and restore vehicle systems.
