Check the field coil for continuity.

there
is
no continuity, the field coil has
an
open
circuit The field coil
is
normal if
it
clicks
into
position
when a
12V
battery
is
connected with the switch turned

the magnetic switcl, Time may
sometimes render it useless due
to
badly pitted
or
bumt
switch contact~ The switch
is
tested electrically for
function
by
connecting a 12V battery to the field coil
wilh the switch turned on.

is
no continuity, il
is
a signal that the switch
contacts
are
not
in
contact
with
the
switch plate.
