IGNITION PULSE GENERATOR PEAK

Check
cylinder
compression

check that
the

Remove the seat assembly
(page 2-3).
Disconnect the
4P
connector
from
the leM.
Connect
the
peak
voltage
adaptor
or
peak
voltage
tester
probes
to
the
connector

erminals
of
the
wire
harness side.

read the
peak voliage.

abnormal,
measure the peak
vol
tage at the pulse IGNITION PULSE GENERATOR
generator connector.
Disconnect the
ignition
pulse
generator
connector
(Blue/yellow) and connect the peak voltage
adaptor
or tester
probes
to
the
connector
terminal
of
the
ignition
pulse generator side and
ground.
In the same
manne
r as at the
leM
connector,
mea~
sure
the
peak voltage
and
compare
it
to
the
voltage
measured at the
leM
connector.
If the peak
voltage
measured at the
leM
is abnor-
mal
and
the
one
measured at the
ignition
pulse
generator
is
normal
,
the
w
ir
e harness has an
open circuit,
or
loose connection.
If
both
peak voltages are
abno
r
mal,
fo
ll
ow
the
checks described
in
the
troubleshooting
chart
(page 14-4).
