handtighten
the
spark. plug

wrench to tighten
to /he sf}8CIfl8d
torque.
Install the spark plug inthe cylinder head and hand
tighten. then torque it wing a spark plug wrench .
TORQUE:
'04 and ' OS : 12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m. 9 IbUt )
Aft er ' OS : 16 N'm (1.6 kgf·m. 12 Ib Ht )
Install
the spark plug cap to the spark plug.
VALVE CLEARANCE
INSPECTION

Remove the left crankcase cover (page 10 -4 ).
Turn the crankshaft counterclockwise and align the
"T " mark on the flywheel with the index notch on
the left crankcase.
Make sure the
piston at TOe (Top Dead Center) on
the compression stroke.
This
position can be obtained by confirming that
there is slack in the rocker arm.
If there is no slack. rotate the crankshaft one lull turn
counterclockw i se and match up the "r' mark again.
Che ck the clearance by inserting a feel er gauge
between the valve adjusting screw and valve stem.

IN/EX: 0.05 ± 0.02 mm (0.002 ± 0. 001 in)
