STARTER MOTOR
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect the battery charging connector.
2. Remove the top cover (P. 7 - 1
) and fan cover
(P. 7 - 3
).
3. Remove the cable tie that is attached around the
starter motor.
4. Remove the 5 x 8 mm pan screw and the black
wire from the starter motor.
5. Remove the white wire and black wire from the
bottom of the starter motor.
6. Remove the two 6 mm special bolts and the starter
motor.
It is not necessary to remove the flywheel when
removing the starter motor only.
7. Install in the reverse order of removal.

6 mm SPECIAL BOLT (2)
11 N•m (97 in-lb)
Do not lubricate the
pinion gear or shaft.
