2. DRIVE BELT
REMOVAL
1. Remove the fan cover (P. 7 - 3 ).
2. Turn the fuel valve to the OFF position, and tilt the mower
on its side so the carburetor is up.
3. Loosen the Roto-Stop cable lock nuts and release the
cable at the throttle control.
4. Remove the blades and rear scroll (P. 1 2 - 5
).
5. Disconnect the Roto-Stop cable from the Roto-Stop
assembly.
6. Insert a screwdriver or rod in the hole in the
transmission cable bracket.
Pivot the transmission as shown, and remove the belt from
the driven pulley. Remove the belt.
INSTALLATION
Installation is done in the reverse order of removal. Be sure
the belt is positioned in the drive pulley before applying
tension to the belt.
During installation, make sure the guide rib on the top of the
scroll is placed between the belt and the Roto-Stop cable
(P. 12-4
).
