This product and its compone nts may be susce ptible to e le ctros tatic dis charge (ES D). Us e appropriate ESD
grounding te chnique s while handling the product. Whe n pos s ible , always handle the product by its non-e le ctrical
compone nts.

Expe rie nced ele ctricians , at firs t contact, always as s ume that hazardous voltage s may e xis t in any wiring
syste m. A safe ty che ck us ing a known, re liable voltage meas ure me nt or de te ction de vice s hould be made

Lig htning and hig h-vo ltag e dang e r
Mos t ele ctrical injurie s involving low-voltage wiring re s ult from s udde n, unexpecte d high voltage s on normally
low-voltage wiring. Low-voltage wiring can carry hazardous high voltage s unde r uns afe conditions . Ne ve r install
or conne ct wiring or e quipme nt during ele ctrical storms. Imprope rly protected wiring can carry a fatal lightning
surge for many mile s . All outdoor wiring mus t be e quipped with prope rly grounde d and lis te d s ignal circuit
protectors , which must be ins talle d in compliance with local, applicable code s . Ne ve r ins tall wiring or e quipme nt
while s tanding in wate r.
Wiring and e quipme nt s e paratio ns
All wiring and controllers mus t be installe d to minimize the pos s ibility of accide ntal contact with othe r, pote ntially
hazardous and dis ruptive powe r and lighting wiring. Neve r place 24VAC or communications wiring near othe r
bare power wire s , lightning rods , ante nnas , trans forme rs, or s te am or hot wate r pipe s . Neve r place wire in any
conduit, box, channel, duct or other e nclos ure containing powe r or lighting circuits of any type . Always provide
ade quate s e paration of communications wiring and other e le ctrical wiring according to code. Keep wiring and
controlle rs at le as t s ix fe e t from large inductive loads (powe r dis tribution pane ls , lighting ballas ts , motors , etc.).
Failure to follow the s e guide line s can introduce e le ctrical interfe re nce and caus e the syste m to operate
erratically.
