Scanner 2 Installation or Replacement
Follow the procedure in Table 4 to install or replace a Scanner 2 module in a redundant power rack.
Table 4 Scanner 2 Module installation or replacement
If you are installing a new Scanner 2, go to step 6.
If you are replacing the Scanner 2, go to step 2.
Remove power from the rack containing the Scanner 2 module to be replaced.

Remove the screws that secure the module assembly to the rack. Disconnect the A
and B IO cables noting cable to port assignment
Pull the Scanner 2 module to remove.
Remove the Scanner 2 module from the shipping container. Note: Verify module
faceplate colour (Blue or Orange) matches the original faceplate.
Position the scanner address switches on the module for the appropriate address
position (see Step 6).
Set rack address for the I/O rack using
the Scanner 2 Module switches on SW3
(shown at right).
(Scanner Address = 1 is shown.)
Switches 6-8 must be OFF.
Only 1 switch position may be ON.
Switch 1 ON = Scanner 1
Switch 2 ON = Scanner 2
Switch 3 ON = Scanner 3
Switch 4 ON = Scanner 4
Switch 5 ON = Scanner 5
A small slotted screwdriver or paperclip
works well; avoid pencils.
Insert the new module into the dedicated slot location in the rack. Orient the module
with the I/O ports on the bottom. Align the module printed circuit board with the card
guide slots in the chassis. Press the Scanner 2 module into the slot until the rear
connector engages the mating connector of the rack backplane.
Secure the new Scanner 2 module top and bottom with the captive mounting screws.
Torque settings 0,4 - 0,5 Nm (3.5 – 4.4 Lb-In.)
Re-apply power to the rack.
