 Thepilot’ssetscrewisusedtotightenthepilotspring.Thespring,inturn,producesa
forcecomponentthatactsontheupperdiaphragmfromabove.
 Theoutletpressureproducesaforcecomponentthatactsontheupperdiaphragm
frombelow.
 Theforcecomponentsactingontheupperdiaphragmareusedbythediaphragmin
ordertocomparethesetpointandtheprocessvalue.Dependingonhowthedia‐
phragmmoves,alargerorsmallergapbetweenthevalveandthemotorizationpres‐
surestagewillbeopened.Themotorizationpressureisregulatedwiththisgap.
 Theinletpressureisconveyedintothelowerchamberoftheupstreampressurestage.
Thispressureisconveyedintothechamberabovethelowerdiaphragmthroughthe
valve.Thepressurereducedbythevalveistheloadingpressure,whichproducesa
forcecomponentthatactsonthelowerdiaphragmfromabove.
 Theoutletpressureisconveyedintothepilotfromtheotherside.Thispressureiscon‐
veyedintothechamberbelowthelowerdiaphragmunitthroughaholeinthehousing.
There,theoutletpressureproducesaforcecomponentthatactsonthediaphragm
frombelow.
 Theforcecomponentsactingonthelowerdiaphragmareusedbythediaphragmin
ordertocomparethesetpointandtheprocessvalue.Dependingonhowthedia‐
phragmmoves,alargerorsmallergapbetweentheuppervalveandthemotorization
pressurestagewillbeopened.Themotorizationpressureisregulatedwiththisgap.
 Dependingonthegaspressureandonthesetsetpoint,theresultingmotorization
pressurewillvary.
