Mode
Many
applications
of
the
3468A,
such
as
a
simple
data
logger,
may
require
that
the
multimeter
take
readings
and
output
them
to
some
device
such
as
a
printer.
All
this
is
to
be
done
without
the
aid
of
a
controller.
The
3468A‘s
Talk
Only
mode
allows
just
that
type
of
transaction
to
occur.
Connect
the
3468A
to
an
-hp-
Model
82162A
Thermal
Printer
with
two
HP-IL
cables.
Remember,
the
41C/41Cv
is
not
to
be
connected
in
the
loop.
The
3468A
is
set
to
the
Talk
Only
mode
by
setting
switch
number
1,
on
the
rear
panel,
to
the
up
position.
The
82162A
printer
is
set
to
the
Listen
Only
mode
by
holding
both
PRINT
and
PAPER
ADVANCE
keys
down
while
turning
the
printer
on.
Measurement
data
is
sent
by
the
multimeter
to
the
printer
after
each
completed
reading.
Function
and
range
settings,
autozero,
etc.,
are
set
from
the
front
panel
of
the
3468A.
The
multimeter
can
be
put
in
the
single
trigger
mode
and
will
out-
put
readings
only
when
triggered.
