ALG mode. A complex number can be entered in a format other
than the current display format – it will be converted to the dis-
play format after entry. In RPN mode, the 4–level stack can hold
4 complex numbers at one time. In ALG mode, an expression
can contain as many complex numbers as needed.
The HP 35s processes complex arithmetic (+, –, x, ÷), complex
trigonometry (sin, cos, tan), and the mathematics functions –z,

bers). It also computes the magnitude of a vector represented by
the parts of a complex number. To separate the magnitude and
angle of a complex number in rθa form, use the º^ and
¹= functions.
