3. Put three drops of oil into each hole in the platen.
4. If oil spills onto the platen, wipe the platen by using the cloth that was supplied within the User
Maintenance guide kit. But do not wipe the rollers.
5. Close and lock the printer window.
Lubricating the Carriage Assembly and rods
The Printhead Carriage Assembly occasionally (about twice a year) needs to be lubricated so that it can
slide easily along the Slider Rod, the Front Panel will advise the customer when this is required.
1. Using the Front Panel, in the Maintenance menu, select “Carriage Roller Lubrication”. The Carriage
Assembly will move to the center of the Printer.
CAUTION: Be careful not to spill oil onto the platen
CAUTION: If the carriage Assembly remains stationary in the middle of the Printer for more
than 7 minutes, the Carriage will automatically return to the Service Station on the right.
