Choose which spindle to use
Ensure you use the correct spindle. The illustrations in the Load a roll onto the spindle on page 9
procedure and the
Load a roll into the printer on page 11 procedure show the black spindle. You must
use the gray spindle if you are loading the following categories and types of rolled papers wider than 36 in
(91.5 cm).

Tip If you are a regular user of different paper types, you can change rolls more quickly if you
preload rolls of different paper types on different spindles. Extra spindles are available for
purchase, see
Accessories on page 31.
