Display assembly
NOTE: The TouchScreen display assembly is spared as a whole unit replacement. The non-
TouchScreen display assembly is spared at the subcomponent level only. For more display assembly
spare part information, see the individual removal subsections.

Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the service cover (see
Service cover on page 71), and then remove the following
components:
a. Battery (see
Battery on page 73)
b. Hard drive (see
Hard drive on page 75)
c. Keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 85)
d. Top cover (see
Top cover on page 94)
Remove the display assembly:
1. Release the display panel cable from the routing clips (1) and channel built into the
base enclosure.
