Fingerprint reader board (includes bracket and cable) 730554-001
Before removing the fingerprint reader board, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the service cover (see
Service cover on page 71), and then remove the following
components:
a. Battery (see
Battery on page 73)
b. Hard drive (see
Hard drive on page 75)
c. Keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 85)
d. Top cover (see
Top cover on page 94)
Remove the fingerprint reader board:
1. Turn the top cover upside down with the front toward you.
2. Detach the fingerprint reader board cable (1) from the top cover. (The fingerprint reader board
cable is attached to the top cover with double-sided adhesive.)
3. Remove the three Phillips PM2.0×2.5 screws that secure the fingerprint reader board and bracket
to the top cover.
4. Remove the fingerprint reader board bracket (3).
