New Features
The HP Kayak XU PC Workstations are based upon the HP Vectra XU
6/xxx PCs. The main new features are:
Pentium

processor (266 or
300 MHz) and Intel
440LX AGPset

all models All models have dual processor slots and are supplied with
single or dual Pentium II processors. The Intel 440LX AGPset
is the new chipset (PL-to-PCI bridge + PCI-to-ISA bridge)
incorporating an AGP controller for enhanced graphics
performance.
Ultra-wide (16-bit)
SCSI I/O
Subsystem with HP
FastRAID Port
all models Two separate Adaptec® SCSI controllers (16-bit and 8-bit)
are supplied on all models. In addition, the HP FastRAID
Accessory Kit may be installed to accelerate hardware
performance.

some models Models with this option are equipped with the Adaptec ARO-
1130 PCI RAIDport adapter.
AGP Graphics
Controller Board
all models All models are equipped with a Matrox Millennium II AGP
graphics controller board.

sensors, and auto-controlled fan cooling) and DiagTOOLS.
Ultra-Flow Cooling
System
all models Consists of 4 fans and a system of air-flow guides. Fan speed
is controlled by temperature sensors (part of Hardware
Monitoring).
