New HP BIOS and Setup Utility Features
New HP BIOS and Setup Utility Features
Available Languages HP BIOS and the Setup utility are now available in 11 European languages.
Summary Configuration
Screen
A summary screen showing the PC Workstation’s configuration can be viewed
by pressing during POST.
Boot Priority The Setup utility now includes a Boot Menu, where you may select the order
of the devices from which the BIOS attempts to boot the operating system.
During POST, if the BIOS is unsuccessful at booting from one device, it will
then try the next one on the Boot Device Priority list until an operating
system is found.
Boot Priority Override An override on the boot priority can be made temporarily by pressing
during POST. A Boot Menu will appear on the screen, allowing a new boot
device to be chosen. This is only a temporary override, and the boot priority
will revert to that specified in the Setup utility for future boots.
Multiprocessing/
Uniprocessing
In dual processor models, the second processor (Processor 2) may be
disabled using the Setup utility option found in the Multiprocessing Menu,
located under the Advanced Menu.
Checking and Changing the System Configuration
HP Setup is accessed by pressing during POST when prompted. The
utility is menu-driven using the keyboard.
