Reverse this procedure to install the TouchPad button board and cable.
Optical drive connector cable
NOTE: The optical drive connector cable is included in the Cable Kit, spare part number
652696-001.
Before removing the optical drive connector cable, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 41), and then remove the following components:
a. Memory module/wireless module compartment cover (see
WLAN module on page 44)
b. Optical drive (see
Optical drive on page 52)
c. Hard drive (see
Hard drive on page 55)
d. Keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 57)
e. Top cover (see
Top cover on page 60)
Remove the optical drive connector cable:
1. Disconnect the optical drive connector cable (1) from the system board.
2. Remove the Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screw (2) that secures the optical drive connector and bracket to
the base enclosure.
