TouchPad assembly (includes cable) L44580-001
Before removing the TouchPad assembly, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 34).
2. Place the computer in “Battery Safe mode” (Battery Safe mode on page 34).
3. Remove the bottom cover (Bottom cover on page 35).
4. Remove the battery (Battery on page 36).
Remove the TouchPad assembly:
1. Disconnect the cable from the ZIF connector on the TouchPad (1).
2. Lift the cable to remove it from the adhesive that secures it to the TouchPad (2).
3. Lift the silver tape from the TouchPad (3).
4. Remove the six broad head Phillips M2.0 × 2.0 screws (4) that secure the TouchPad to the computer.
5. Lift the TouchPad out of the computer (5).
Reverse this procedure to install the TouchPad assembly.
