Service doors

Plastics Kit (includes service doors) 828414-001
There is a small service door and a large service door on the bottom of the computer. The large service door
provides access to the hard drive, memory modules, and optical drive. The small service door provides access
to the WLAN module and keyboard release access hole.
Before removing the service doors, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 32).
To remove the service doors:
1. To remove the large service door:
a. Loosen the large service door screw (1).
b. Slide the service door o the computer (2).
2. To remove the small service door:
a. Remove the small service door screw (3).
