2. Loosen the three captive Phillips screws (2) that secure the fan, and then remove the fan from the
computer (3).
Reverse this procedure to install the fan assembly.

Before removing the heat sink, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 29).
2. Remove the bottom cover (Bottom cover on page 29).
3. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 30).
Remove the heat sink:
1. In the order indicated on the heat sink, loosen the four captive Phillips screws (1) that secure the heat
sink, and then remove the heat sink (2).
