Before removing the RTC battery, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 29).
2. Remove the bottom cover (Bottom cover on page 29).
3. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 30).
Remove the RTC battery:
1. Disconnect the RTC battery cable from the system board (1), and then remove the cable from the clip
(2).
2. Remove the RTC battery from the computer (3).
Reverse this procedure to install the RTC battery.
