Ways of getting content from your previous phone
Depending on the operating system in your old phone, choose the proper method of getting its
content onto HTC U20 5G.
From an Android phone
There are two ways you can do:
§ Use your Google Account to back up and restore data.
Back up your old phone to your Google Account first. When you set up HTC U20 5G for the
first time, sign in to your Google Account and restore your old phone's data to HTC U20 5G.
§ Use the HTC Transfer Tool.
On your old HTC or other Android phone, download the HTC Transfer Tool and use it to
transfer your content to HTC U20 5G. See Transferring content from an Android phone on
page 68.
From an iPhone
Download and install the Google Drive
™
app on your iPhone, and use it to back up iPhone content to
your Google Account.
On HTC U20 5G, go to Settings, tap System Advanced Get content from another phone, and
then tap iPhone to see the instructions. You can also visit https://www.android.com/switch/.
Transferring content from an Android phone
On your old Android phone, download the HTC Transfer Tool and use it to transfer your content to
HTC U20 5G.
The types of content on your old phone that the HTC Transfer Tool can transfer include contacts,
call histories, music, photos, videos, certain settings, and more.
1. From the Home screen, tap Settings
System.
2. Tap Advanced Get content from another phone.
3. Choose whether to transfer from an HTC Android phone or other Android phone.
4. On the Get content from another phone screen, tap Next.
5. Follow the steps shown on HTC U20 5G to download the HTC Transfer Tool to your old
phone, install it, and open the tool.
