and log uploading. After users disable this function, services such as version upgrade,
configuration management and log uploading are unavailable.
l Use the enterprise SIM card: the enterprise software SIM card information is preset at
the factory, users can not change it. If you insert a hard SIM card , the UE uses hardware
SIM card information. If there is no hardware SIM card inserted, the UE uses the
software SIM card information by default.
Sharing your phone's mobile data connection
Your UE can function as a Wi-Fi hotspot for other devices, sharing its mobile data
connection.
Choose Settings > ALL > Wireless & networks, > More > Tethering & portable hotspot.
1. Select Portable WLAN hotspotto turn Wi-Fi hotspot on.
2. Select Portable WLAN hotspot settings > Configure Wi-Fi hotspot.
3. Set the Wi-Fi hotspot's name, encryption mode, and password. Then select Save.
NOTE
It is recommended that you set the encryption mode to WPA2 PSK to better secure the Wi-Fi network.
5.8 Installing the third-party applications
This section describes how to install the third-party applications in an EP820.
Prerequisites
l You have obtained the APK file of the third-party application.
Procedure
l Local installation in an EP820
a. Turn on Third-party apps by choosing Settings > ALL > Security > DEVICE
ADMINISTRATION.
b. Copy the installation package file to the EP820.
n Connect EP820 to the computer using the data cable. Set Notifications >
Device file manager (MTP) and then APK files can be copied from the
computer to the EP820.
n You can also use an external memory card, bluetooth, etc. Copy APK files to
the EP820.
c. Choose File management > Applications, and find the third-party application
which is not installed. Click it to install.
l Installation using eOMC910
a. Create a file-delivery task to send the APK file to the specified EP820. For detailed
operations, see the section Creating a File Delivery Task in the eOMC910 Product
Documentation.
b. Install the third-party application as instructed.
