3.14 How is my phone's ROM allocated?
ROM partition (A ROM is similar to a hard disk of a computer)
Boot and
operating
system data
backup
partition
This partition stores the boot data and operating system
backup data.
The data in this partition is used when you restore the
phone to its factory settings.
Partition
reserved for
HOTA
updates
This partition is reserved for HOTA updates.
The device provider or operator pushes update patches to
users using this partition.
This partition is used for the Android operating system.
Virtual
microSD
card
partition
This partition is used when your phone does not have a
microSD card inserted and when you are using
applications that must run on a microSD card, for
example, camera, Bluetooth, and data synchronization
with computers. With this partition, you can use all
functions provided on the Android system without an
additional microSD card.
Can be queried under
Settings > Storage >
SD card
This partition is used when running the operating system
or applications. This partition also stores the files for
applications you install.
Can be queried using a
third-party application
This partition includes the space occupied by file
partition tables, space occupied by flag tables of flash
material bad blocks, and space lost due to formatting.

On the home screen, touch Settings > Storage to view the storage details.
