Operating Hurricane Power
Using the Throttle and Choke

Starting Using the Throttle and Choke
Push choke lever forward to the CLOSED position.
Move throttle lever to the HALF FAST position
when starting and warming the engine.
Turn key switch to the START position and re-
lease when engine starts, pulling choke control
back to the OPEN position after engine start.
Blower speed and power can be controlled with
the throttle control.

The Tach/hour meter shows the engine revolu-
tions per minute when the engine is running and
the engine hours when engine is off. The meter
will also show reminders when to change the en-
gine oil. The meter only runs when the engine is
running and is independent of the key switch.
Filling Fuel Tank
CAUTION
Avoid injury! Fuel vapors are explosive and
ammable.
Shut engine OFF before filling fuel tank.
Do not smoke while handling fuel.
Keep fuel away from flames or sparks.
Fill fuel tank outdoors or in well ventilated area.
Clean up spilled fuel immediately.
Use clean approved non-metal container to pre-
vent static electric discharge.
Use clean approved plastic funnel without screen
or filter to prevent static electric discharge.
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Dirt and water in fuel
can cause engine damage:
Clean dirt and debris from the fuel tank opening.
Use clean, fresh, stabilized fuel.
Fill the fuel tank at the end of each day’s opera-
tion to keep condensation out of the fuel tank.
Use a non-metallic funnel with a plastic mesh
strainer when filling the fuel tank or container.
