Electrical system
Still no spark?
Check the ignition cables connection to
the spark plug cover.
Pry o the metal washer and lift o the
heat guard.
Pull away the ignition lead from the spark
plug cover.
Still no spark?
Check the spark plug connection.
1. Pry o the metal washer using a small
screwdriver and lift o the heat guard
from the spark plug connection.
2. Pull away the ignition lead from the
spark plug cover with a twisting move-
ment.
TIP!
Lubricate the ignition lead with a few
drops of oil.
If no spark occurs even now, remove the
short-circuit cable from the connection
point in the carburettor compartment.
If the plug now sparks, the fault is either in
the stop switch or the short-circuit cable.
Change the switch as needed and check
to see if the cable insulation is damaged.
Check that the connection between the
ignition lead and the contact coil is not
burnt.
If this is the case, cut o the damaged
section.
3. Check the connection between the
ignition lead and the contact coil. Cut
o a piece of the ignition lead to make
a satisfactory connection.
If no spark occurs, disconnect the stop
switch.
Replace the switch if necessary.
Use pliers no. 502 50 06-01 to make a
hole in the ignition lead.
When a part of the ignition lead has been
cut o it helps to use the pliers no. 502 50
06-01 to make a hole in the ignition lead to
t the contact coil.
NOTE!
It is important that the tip of the
contact coil hits the centre of the
ignition lead to prevent sparking.
