Ignition system
Dismantling
1. Remove the cylinder cover and starter unit. See
page 18.
2. Release the lead (A) (which connects to the stop
button) from the ignition module (B). See g. 1.
3. Remove the ignition cable (C) from the spark plug
and release both cables from the cable guide,
and lift off the cable guide. See g. 1.
4. Remove the two M5 bolts (D) and lift off the ignition
module (B). See g. 1.
5. Remove the two pawls (E) for the starter. See g. 1.
6. Remove the spark plug and t the piston stop in
spark plug hole. See g. 2.
7. Release the ywheel nut. Unscrew the nut until
it comes level with the outer end of the shaft thread
See g. 3.
8. Fit the ywheel puller. Tighten down the two M5x25
bolts approx. 10 turns. Exercise care on saws with
generators, which can be damaged if the screws
are tightened too deep. Tighten the centre bolt, while
preventing rotation with the holding tool until the
ywheel releases. See g. 4.
9. Remove the puller, nut, washer and ywheel.
Cleaning and inspection
Clean all parts, especially the tapers on the ywheel and
shaft.
Check the ywheel for cracks or any other signs of
damage.
