negative terminal of the charged battery
to or near the negative terminal of the
weak battery.
CAUTION: Do not use the battery of
your product to start other vehicles.
1. Connect one end of the red battery cable to the
POSITIVE (+) battery terminal (A) on the weak
battery.

2. Connect the other end of the red battery cable
to the POSITIVE (+) battery terminal (B) on the
charged battery.
WARNING: Do not let the ends
of the red battery cable touch the
chassis. This will cause a short
circuit.
3. Connect one end of the black battery cable to
the NEGATIVE (-) battery terminal (C) on the
charged battery.
4. Connect the other end of the black battery cable
to a CHASSIS GROUND (D), away from the fuel
tank and the battery.
To remove the jumper cables
Note:
Remove the jumper cables in the opposite
sequence to how you connect them.
1. Remove the BLACK cable from the chassis.
2. Remove the BLACK cable from the fully charged
battery.
3. Remove the RED cable from the 2 batteries.
Cutting deck
To remove and install the cutting deck
Note:
If an accessory other than the cutting deck
is to be used, the front link and the rear lift links must
be removed from the product. Also, the clutch cable
spring must be put into the cable guide on the front
edge of the lower dash.
1. Disengage the cutting deck. Refer to

.
2. Stop the product. Refer to

.
3. Lower the cutting deck to the lowest position.
4. Remove the center chute. Refer to
To remove
and install the center chute on page 28
.
5. Remove the mandrel cover (A).

6. Remove the clutch cable (B), push the tab (C)
and remove the clutch cable from the bracket.
7. Remove the drive belt from the clutch pulley (D).
8. Carefully remove the clutch cable spring (E) from
the idler arm (F).
9. Disconnect the front link (G) from the cutting
deck and remove the retainer spring and washer.
10. Remove the clips (H) and disconnect the
suspension arms (I) from the chassis pins.
11. Disconnect the rear lift links (J) from the rear
cutting deck brackets (K) on each side of the
cutting deck.
12. Remove the cutting deck from the product.
13. Install the cutting deck in the opposite sequence.
Make sure that the grass discharge is on the
right side of the product.
Note:
The suspension arms must be in
forward position before you move the cutting
deck below the product.
To remove and install the center chute
1. Disengage the cutting deck. Refer to

.
2. Stop the product. Refer to
To stop the product on
page 18
.
3. Remove the grass catcher.
