If the cylinder on your Hytorc Power Tool won't retract, consider the following: * If the voltage to the electric pump is too low due to line drop or inadequate amperage, use a shorter extension cord or upgrade to a 12AWG, 25 amp rating or better. If shop power is adequate, draw power from a welding machine or cal rod transformer. * If the linkage between the piston rod and drive arms is broken, replace the necessary parts.

      Christopher SilvaNov 10, 2025
If the cylinder pressure on your Hytorc Power Tool isn't building, there could be several reasons: * There might be oil blow-by in the tool due to a piston seal leak, a blown O-ring, or a cracked piston. If this is the case, replace the defective parts. * There could be a pump problem. Check if the sub-plate is worn. To do this, remove the screws from the pump motor to the reservoir, slide the pump motor to the side, turn the pump on, and while holding down the button, put your finger on the dump tube (the round tube under the directional control valve). If you feel pressure, then replace the sub-plate and shear seals. * Check for leaks from the external relief valve and the two oil line connections (bottom of the relief valve and connection into the pump body's other end) of the oi...
