7 ENGINEBREAKIN
Thebreakinoftheenginemustbeperformedfollowingafewfundamentalrules:
1.Adjustthecarburetion.Startwithanadjustmentontherichside.
2.Warmtheenginegraduallyforabout5minutesathalfthrottle,makingsomelapsat
lowspeed,gentlyclosingandopeningthecarb.throttle(ifatachometerisinstalled
neverexceed11.000÷12.000RPM).NeverkeepthesameRPMforalongtime.
3.Progressivelyincreasethespeedofthekartfor5minutesat¾throttleopening.
NeverkeepthesameRPMforalongtime.
4.Increasethespeedfor5minutes,atmax.speedonthetwistypartsofthecircuit
andmakingtheenginerichathalfstraight(coverwiththehandforaninstantthe
holesontheairfilter,keepingthethrottlewideopen).
ATTENTION:
Oncethebreakinisoverandtheengineiscold,checkthetorqueoftheexhaust
headernutsas,duringthebreakin,thenutstendtobecomeloose(refertothe
attachedtable).
8 RPMLIMITATION
The electronic box incorporates an RPM limiter which prevents the engine from
exceeding17000RPM.
This limit cannot be exceeded otherwise the engine could be damaged by the
extremelyhighRPM.
ATTENTION:
Do not keep the engine for a long time at the RPM at which the limiter is
functioning. This would cause malfunctions on the induction and d amage the
reedvalve.
Whenchoosingthe sprocketratioalwaysrefertoamaximu mlimitof16500RPM
sothattheincorpo ratedlimiterisnotswitchedoncontinuouslywhentheengine
isrunning.
9 INLETSILENCER
Makesurethattheinletholesonthefilteraretowardstheuppersideandthattheyare
notplugged.
Make sure that the clamp on the carburetor is not loosen and that the filter is well
fastenedtothechassis.
Onceawhile,cleantheinsidefromoildeposits.Ifnecessaryremovetherubberfilter
unionandcleanitwithgasolineorsolvent.
