The serial uninterruptible power supply conversion cable changes signals to serial for use with the IBM
System i5 or eServer i5 model or logical partition. This cable is required if you are connecting the server
to an uninterruptible power supply.
To connect the serial uninterruptible power supply conversion cable, do the following:
1. Connect side B (see the following figure) of the serial uninterruptible power supply conversion cable
(with the external threads) to service processor communications port 2 on the back of your system.
