Mount the drive
Note: Drive bays and other enclosures vary in size and orientation from system to system. They may be
oriented vertically, horizontally, upside down, or sideways. The IBM Ultrastar can be mounted with any of
its six surfaces facing down.
Ÿ Mount the drive as instructed by your computer system manual using four 6-32 UNC screws.
Ÿ The drive should be mounted securely enough to prevent excessive motion or vibration.
Ÿ Ensure that the drive has sufficient air flow.

Max allowable penetration of noted screw
to be 4.5 mm.
Max allowable penetration of noted screw
to be 4.0 mm.
Recommended torque 0.6 - 1.0 Nm
